Glucose Alerts

How much does GlucoTV cost?
GlucoTV is $2/month or $18/year — less than a coffee a month. Both plans start with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers (one per email address, card required to start), so you can make sure it works with your setup before you're charged. Read-only view links you share with caregivers or teachers are always free for them to use.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Your Dexcom username and password, and any Nightscout API secret or access token, are encrypted before being stored (using Fernet: AES-128 encryption with an HMAC-SHA256 integrity check). The encryption key is kept separately in Google Secret Manager — so credentials in our database can't be read without a separate key, which is kept in Google Secret Manager rather than in the database. They are decrypted in memory only when we need them to fetch your readings, and the plaintext is discarded afterward. Your glucose data is used only to show your readings and history to you and to anyone you share your view link with, and is never sold. It is shared only with the services that run GlucoTV (such as Google Cloud) and with people you give your view link to. See our privacy policy for full details.
Can I share my view with a teacher or caregiver?
Yes — after pairing you get a shareable link. Anyone with the link can view your glucose readings in any modern web browser with no account and no subscription. This is intentionally free so there's no barrier for schools or caregivers.
Can I use GlucoTV on multiple screens?
Yes — each Roku pairs independently, and you can share your desktop link with as many people as you want. If you have multiple people on one account, you can also set up a Group View to monitor up to 4 profiles on a single screen. Each profile gets its own color-coded card with a live chart.
How current is the data?
GlucoTV updates automatically and checks for each new reading as soon as one is due, so it usually shows new readings shortly after they reach Dexcom or your Nightscout site. CGM sensors typically report every 5 minutes, so readings will reflect that natural delay. Because readings reach GlucoTV through Dexcom's or your Nightscout site's servers, they can appear a short while after they show on your receiver or phone app.
Do I need a Roku to use GlucoTV?
No. You can pair a computer directly without a Roku — just create an account, go to the pairing page, and connect your CGM. You'll get a shareable link that works in any browser. The Roku app and desktop viewer can also be used at the same time.
Will more CGM systems be supported?
Currently we support Dexcom and Nightscout. FreeStyle Libre and other systems are planned for future updates.
